I retired after 33 years as a brakeman on the railroad.  It took its toll on my body.  I could hardly walk and the pain was great.  One of the top orthopedic doctors in Richmond told me that I needed to have both my knees replaced.  Before doing any surgery I tried three times getting shots in my knees.  The extreme pain of the shots was more than the good they did.  I by now was using a wheelchair part of the time and was afraid that my time of walking was coming to an end.

I believed there had to be a better way and I started looking into alternatives.  I met Freddie and decided to try acupuncture.

WOW!  My pain started going away.  Walking began to get easier with the pain getting better.  I found that acupuncture helped with other problems I was having.  My digestion system was weak; I had diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol.

A couple of years of doing acupuncture has gone by. I now love my retirement.  Life is good. 

For the record I am a 66-year-old woman and last Thanksgiving I cooked for 31 family members and was able to play with my grandchildren.  I had one of the best days of my life.

I still have my God-given knees and they are working just fine.  Thank you Freddie.

I must admit that I was a bit skeptical about Acupuncture because I had never been around it. I was injured in a rear end collision in 2017 and suffered from severe whiplash. I have been having ablations done to both sides of my neck to help with the pain and headaches associated with the injury. Problem is, after 6-8 months the problem is back. I decided after multiple ablations to try Acupuncture and see if it could/would help me. I am pleased to say that after the first 2-3 treatments my headaches are gone. The neck pain is so much less than it was before! I am still getting treatment and I can definitely tell improvement with each visit. Ten Stones is a great place, I cannot say enough positive things about it. I feel like I can get my life back without invasive procedures or use of pain meds. I will/have recommended this to others. I am blessed to have found such great place and such a truly caring and wonderful Acupuncturist in Fredda Simpson. She is helping me to heal my entire being not just the pain.

Freddie is a bright, insightful, and compassionate Practitioner.  She has helped me with a wide range of issues, including Type 2 Diabetes, back pain, allergies, grief and stress.  She has a gentle and wise approach, taking the time to look at the whole picture.  She treats the body, mind and spirit in equal measures. Her ability to diagnose and come up with a complete treatment plan including diet and exercise is amazing.

Once I had her treat me for generalized back pain. I'd had this pain for years. Immediately after the treatment the pain became specific and a little more intense.  I had concerns the treatment backfired.  Freddie nodded, told me to drink a lot of water.  She checked in the next day to see how I was doing.  The pain was gone.  For the first time in years I had no pain.  She knew what she was doing and followed up.  Smart and compassionate!

In 2007 I had a hemorrhagic stroke resulting in aphasia, vascular dementia, memory issues, physical problems on the right side of the body, and physical pain.

Four years after my stroke my improvement leveled off.  The stroke effected the right side of my body. I had leg cramps and a dropped leg.  Partial feeling came back to my leg and arm days after the stroke.  However on a scale from 1 to 10 the pain was a ten. I started acupuncture and noticed improvement in the reduction of body pain as well as improvement in speech and memory.  Acupuncture has reduced the pain in my arm and hand to a one. It has improved my balance, reduced leg cramps and helped alleviate tripping because of the dropped leg. My dementia is not going away, but it has also slowed down.

Speaking was hard going but it had been improving slowly.  After getting acupuncture treatments my wife noticed a marked improvement in my vocabulary.  I am now able to speak and write in complete sentences.

Acupuncture was the last piece of the puzzle in putting my life together after the stroke.
